Domino's to test Facebook e-commerce

Published Date: 13:23:01 09/02/2012

Domino's Pizza is allowing its customers a chance to enjoy its latest product through Facebook in a new method of e-commerce.

The company's bite-sized spicy Boneless Ribs have been made available for a promotional price for people who log on to the pizza delivery business' Facebook and access its ordering site.

Simon Wallis, sales and marketing director at Domino's Pizza, said: "Our Facebook fans are very knowledgeable when it comes to our menu so we can't wait to see what they think of this tasty new addition."

Mr Wallis added that Domino's has collected more than 400,000 fans on its UK Facebook page, indicating the power the platform has to reach customers.

News of the Pizza business' new approach to e-commerce comes after Stefan Boyle from PrintRepublic.co.uk advised that companies should not prioritise style over substance when designing their websites.

Mr Boyle also stated that e-commerce firms should put in a concerted effort to make their sites appealing, warning that they should not develop one because "everyone else does".
